Bohemian Rhapsody Remix featuring The Muppets

Is this the most awesome video of all time?

The muppets meet Freddy Mercury and Queen when Muppet Studios created a video remake of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and released it on November 22, 2009.  This music video spread like a virus and it's popularity continues to grow.  Google hot trends lists it at number 38 and gives it a rating of "Spicy" which is a 3 out of  5.  In this day and age keeping a rating that high for this long speaks volumes.

Fun for the whole family, my 4 year old, my wife and I were all thoroughly entertained as we rewound Animal's part over and over again.

The best description of this viral sensation came from gather.com

They take some liberties with the original Queen lyrics and beautifully make it completely family friendly while keeping to the quirky personality traits of specific Muppet characters. For example in the beginning, the original lyric is “Mama just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead” that lyric has now been expertly transformed into Animal just repeating the one word “Momma” in his own unique Animal style. The lyric is no longer about guns and death but about mommas. Later in the song Fozzie The Bear (the Muppets resident slapstick jokester) sings, “let me joke” instead of the original lyric of “let me go” brilliant!

Some background Info
For those who don't know, the original was released by British rock band Queen in 1975 on their album A Night At The Opera.  According to Wikipedia:

When it was released as a single, "Bohemian Rhapsody" became an unlikely commercial success, staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks. It reached number one again in 1991, after Freddie Mercury's death, achieving total sales of 2,176,000 and becoming the UK's third best selling single of all time—beaten only by Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and Elton John's "Candle In The Wind 1997".[1]

Muppet Studios did an awesome job with this video and once again Freddy Mercury and Queen has topped the internet video charts. Here is a link to the original song.

Just in case you wanted to see the original lyrics which aren't so family friendly:

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy (Poor boy)
I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Any way the wind blows
Doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life has just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooh
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody
I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, oooooooh (Anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
Sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

[Guitar Solo]

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, Scaramouch, will you do the Fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me
(Galileo) Galileo (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro
Magnifico-o-o-o-o
I'm just a poor boy nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go
Let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go
Let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go
Let me go (Will not let you go)
Let me go (Will not let you go) (Never, never, never, never)
Let me go, o, o, o, o
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
(Oh mama mia, mama mia) Mama Mia, let me go
Beelzebub has the devil put aside for me, for me, for me!

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here

[Guitar Solo]
(Oooh yeah, Oooh yeah)

Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters to me

Any way the wind blows...
